A dictatorship is a nation or country run by 1 person or leader. In this type of government, the dictator makes all the government decisions.
Pros and Cons
~A pro of this type of government is that it takes less time for decisions to be made. With a government like a democracy, it takes months or years to a new laws or rules to be made or go into affect. With a dictatorship, the decisions are made faster because only 1 person is making them so their is less disagreement or agreeing.
~Another pro is that their are no outside influences to mess with the power of the government. In other types of governments, their are many different changes that occur overtime. In a dictatorship, the government is more stable because only the dictator is saying what to do and their aren't as many rapid changes.
~A con of a dictatorship is that they give the dictator too much power. In a dictatorship, the dictator has all the power the power and makes all the decision which may be too much for 1 person. With all of the power, a dictator me be too powerful and make bad choices for the country.
~Another con of a dictatorship is that they do not last very long. Historically dictatorships are known to last only for a short period of time. This is mainly because the government feels as if the dictator has too much power over the country.
