Technology Professional Development that’s all about teaching,
not just technology.

Digital Academy is a multi-session professional development program that will prepare you to become a leader in technology integration for your school and district.

You will become familiar with the technology tools in your classroom and will be able to implement technology into classroom instruction to enhance student engagement and achievement.

You will also prepare to act as a teacher leader in the area of technology integration by modeling effective uses of technology, sharing what you have learned, and by taking a leadership role to guide future technology implementation in your building and district wide.

Sessions include exploration of different topics and tools as well as time to create usable applications for your classrooms. Sessions include:

1 DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP: SAFETY, COPYRIGHT, SEARCHING THE WEB

Discover several facets that make a digital citizen including how to make good choices when using technology. Learn how to teach students the important but often overlooked skill of effectively searching the web.

2 CREATING WEBPAGES

Create your own webpage in order to convey information to others and also explore how to best utilize it in your classroom. Explore the benefits of having students create a digital portfolio, too.

3 CHECKING FOR UNDERSTANDING: FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT

Explore the different facets of the assessment process and different resources to help guide in the creation of lessons and assessments. Use different web tools to create assessments you will use with your students.

4 COLLABORATION & CLOUD STORAGE

Find and utilize tools to get your students to collaborate with one another. Discover ways to utilize Google Drive and other sources to work together as well as share & store information.

5 PRESENTATIONS & DIGITAL STORYTELLING

Explore popular tools for creating presentations and telling stories digitally. Develop your own creativity with a variety of tools that will take your students to the top of Bloom’s pyramid.

6 VISUAL REPRESENTATION

Visually depict things, thoughts or ideas with a variety of web tools. Explore some of the most common tools used in creating images, maps and drawings for visual representation.
