The Big Fake Wedding offers an interactive alternative to a bridal show in the form of a big, fake wedding
Brides- and grooms-to-be in the Lowcountry are invited to attend The Big Fake Wedding Charleston. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 15 at 7 p.m. at Harborside East in Mount Pleasant. The Big Fake Wedding is a bridal show alternative in the form of a big, fake wedding. “Wedding guests” are brides- and grooms-to-be who enjoy an emotional vow renewal ceremony, a tasty cocktail-style dinner, and a dance-party reception while truly experiencing the wedding vendors in action.
Local married couple, Erin and Brian, will use the event to renew their wedding vows. Those attending will experience a perfectly planned “wedding” and have the opportunity to meet the vendors behind the scene.

While in college, she occasionally spent a summer in Charleston where she eventually met a Citadel grad (and her future husband!). It wasn’t long before they were engaged and after a year and a half engagement, Erin and Brian were married in May 2010 at the Citadel’s Summerall Chapel, followed by a perfect downtown reception. We met Erin, founder and editor of A Lowcountry Wedding, through a media partnership and we are even more thrilled to celebrate these two at The Big Fake Wedding Charleston this year.
The evening will include an emotional (fake) wedding ceremony encouraging strong marriages, a delectable catere rcocktail-style dinner, and a reception full of sparkling wine, dancing and dessert. The Big Fake Wedding also promises a hand full of surprises planned for guests throughout the evening.
The event will showcase wedding vendors such as catering from Mosaic and SaltWorks Catering Co., a dove release from Holy City Doves, reception entertainment from OtherBrother Entertainment, and dozens more.
While The Big Fake Wedding is in the business of creating fake weddings, they continue to work towards their very real goals of promoting small businesses, inspiring brides and grooms, and encouraging solid marriages.
Tickets for this event are $25.00 and can be purchased online on The Big Fake Wedding Charleston event page.
They include a cocktail-style dinner, sparkling wine, dancing and a swag bag.
