RRJL'S Next Task
RRJL is a micro finance group. Our goal was to get a loan and start a raffle. RRJL is a name base off our first name initials. It goes Rob, Roman, Jackson and Liam. I'm Roman. RRJL started off rolling. We were one of the first groups to get up on the loan site . Since we asked for a big loan, We were one of the last groups to get funded. Miraculously, we got funded 14 dollars in only a couple of hours! Now, we just have to sell our product in Kiva sales. A component off this project was based off what people have to do to get a Kiva loan. This project also helped me see how a business might work with all the ups and downs that come with it!
A couple of classes ago in math we picked our raffle winners, now my group and I are challenged to get a new product. We have to get a new prize with a certain amount of money that needs to attract a lot of attention because of another group. The other group got a Kindle Fire, which is pretty cool. S0 we need to get something just as cool as that. Plus I'm not so sure we are going to find a great prize with the money we have. Luckily, our group is really resilient.
The Value of Multiple Perspectives
My group could have worked on The Value of Multiple Perspectives. An example of this was when we picked our raffle winners. I thought we should have done one more sale before we picked our winners because we had made 23 dollars in profit and in Kiva you only need 25 dollars to make a loan. Our goal in this project is to try to make as many loans as you can, so why would we get a whole new product when we could start a sale. We would only need to sell one more ticket. After we would get a head start on making loans. Instead, now we need to get a new product. I understood my partner's point of view that our product was old but I'm not sure if my partner's got my point of view. Which isn't all their fault maybe they didn't understand my point of view because I didn't get my point across the best.
What it is like to be a borrower
This year through a project including Kiva, I was able to learn what it is like to be a borrower. Being a borrower can be stressful because you eventually have to pay back. Also in paybacks you have to decided if you want to pay back in the up coming months or year. Last class we did face a challenge. We were going to buy a product with 50 dollars but we needed to pay back. We decided to finish all the loan in 4 months Or we need to pay 25% every month. That was tough because we had 70 dollars which was plenty enough money for our product that was 50 dollars, But we had to pay 24 dollars(25%). that adds up to 46 dollars! So now we have to sell at least 4 tickets to get a prize. Wish us luck! Something else that stressed me in the earlier days of this project was not breaking even or making enough money through sales. After every sale that we didn't have enough money to pay every loaner I got a little worried. Questions would pop up in my mind like what if we don't get enough money or how would people come back and enter in a loan after we couldn't pay back? These are some of the challenges I faced being a borrower.
My quote to represent my feelings about the whole project.
"A waiting person is a patient person. The word patience means the willingness to stay where we are and live the situation out to the full belief that something hidden there will manifest itself to us."

Coming to the End of this project I think my group needs to communicate! we have two weeks left. We have to make a couple more loans, (Data that we need for slides) finish our slides and collect more stats for it. Plus at the end of the school year, we will have to present our slides. We won't be able to get all this done without communication. We are going to need all hands on deck and be extremely focused!
