Countdown to Spice it Up!
The Spice it Up Conference is coming up in just a few short weeks! Make plans to attend the conference on August 24, 2016 at Walled Lake Central High School! Take the next step in developing yourself as a digital age educator by learning with your colleagues. You will enjoy Matt Miller's keynote; he combines a conversational, engaging speaking style with loads of resources, leaving teachers equipped and inspired to move forward. Please arrive at 7:45am to allow time for registration/coffee/ordering lunch, and catching up with colleagues you haven't seen all summer. The keynote begins at 8:30am and the conference ends at 3:00pm.
Pre-registration for sessions in Kalpa is mandatory for Walled Lake teachers and administrators (due to state and district policy). If you attend the entire day, you will be able to register for five sessions (keynote plus four breakouts). Make your selections and register for each session ASAP (no later than August 19). The Kalpa ID# for the keynote is 625103. Hours spent at the conference can used when renewing teacher certificates.
Note that the conference is free for all Walled Lake employees. WL staff who do NOT have a Kalpa account (paras, secretaries, etc), please register for the conference by filling out this short form.
A limited number of guests can attend for a small fee ($50). If you have friend who works in another district who you would like to invite, ask them to pay online and then fill out this registration form.
What to Bring
Your charged laptop: Most sessions are hands-on. Please turn it on the day before so that Windows updates are downloaded and installed before you arrive.
$7.00 for lunch: Lunch will be available from Marco's Pizza. Choose from pizza, subs, and salads will be offered along with a soft drink and cookie. Lunch orders will be taken prior to the keynote.
