By: Tim Coulon
- 1- What groups are involved, who had the power?
The groups that were involved are the Guerillas, The U.S.A, The Army and Wealthy, the government of Guatemala, and The Peasants. The power was mostly consisted of the Guerillas and the Army and Wealthy mostly.
- 2- How the balance of power shifted and why?
The power shifted mostly between the Army and wealthy and the Guerillas. The power shifted due to treaties and MSU's the power shifted completely through out the game.
- 3- How was conflict and cooperation shown in the game(Violence,Corruption,War)
Cooperation and Conflict were shown when MSU's started to be traded for cooperation towards victory of Guatemala. Conflict was when the Guerrillas decided to attack the Army&Wealthy for MSU's which cause a war between the two.
- 4- What role did the U.S have on the simulation?
The U.S played a very important role on this simulation. The U.S played the same role they play today in which is pure power and control of everyone simply because they can. If the U.S in real life does not have their way they result to war in order to make the country play a role in their shadow.
- 5- What happens to a country when power shifts, is the effect positive or negative?
When the power shifts in a country it can result into a good or bad situation for that country. If the power shifts to a positive and trusted group then this can become a positive situation, while it can be the opposite and the power can be intercepted by someone much like the Guerillas in the simulation where all they want is the power no matter how many people they destroy for it.
- 6- Apply this information to YOUR LIFE! What relationships do you have in your life, how are cooperation and conflict evident? Provide a minimum of 2 examples.
Some relationships I have in my life would be with friends and family. For some examples my Dad and my group of friends. Conflict happens a lot between me and my Dad when I do not do something he wants me to do, for instance when he asks me to clean my room and I respond with a later or possibly a no, he ends up pretty upset. Cooperation would be when me and him think about stuff to buy for other family for Christmas, we have to cooperate in order to find something good for certain family members. Me and my friends have plenty of cooperation when we end up playing on the same team in gym, we all end up playing with complete cooperation in order to win the game for our team. We also have plenty of conflict as well when it comes to power such as, more popular with other people and sometimes even money. Although I have these conflicts between my Dad and my friends, we always end up fixing it through cooperation in some way, sort of like Guatemala.
