Total Warfare is Totally Unnecessary!
Sherman's March was too harsh!
Sherman's March to sea was not appropriate. It was a very harsh military tactic that could have been a lot less brutal. Not only did he destroy Atlanta and Savannah, he also left a path of destruction between these two cities. To feed his army, he lived off the land, as well as stealing crops and livestock from innocent Southern farmers. Another example of terrible total warfare like Sherman's March to Sea would be the bombing of Japan, which secured the U.S. a win in WWII, but with the consequences of poisoning Japan and killing thousands of innocent people.
