We are a STEAM school. During this coming academic year 2014-2015, I plan to use technology more to facilitate learning rather than just as reinforcement for what they have learned. I plan to implement TPACK, using technology more on a daily basis with the curriculum.

I teach at The School for Creative Studies where students are issued MacBooks. We have relied on TPACK and SAMR to guide much of our planning. I'm eager to help students make the most efficient use of the technology at their disposal without overwhelming them.

As a media coordinator, I try to find resources that aid teachers in their quest to improve learning. This may include resources I know of or things I find during the year. SAMR could be very effective in these situations though I need to follow up to see if changes have been made. In dealing with students, I always try to encourage them to stretch their efforts in new ways that will aid learning. I need to be more in front of the kids on a scheduled basis to aid with this process.

Our school provides students and teachers with laptops. I currently flip my classroom. I have done this for the past 2 years. This has worked really well. Each year I have changed the videos as I increase my skills and I will be changing them again this summer. I use technology in many other S & A ways. However, for 2015-2016, I would like to increase my thinking and planning in the M & R realms to further engage my students.

I will definitely need to become more familiar and comfortable with substitution in my classroom. I also need to work on growing more comfortable with giving my students more freedom with technology. I need to learn more ways to allow students exploration in a safe manner with the internet and all that technology has to offer.

I'm hoping to figure out ways to make the technology more effective, as well as curtail the misuse that frequents the class.

I plan to use TPACK in subject area PLT meetings to identify the appropriate technology tools to enhance their lessons.

In the 2015-2016 school year, I plan on using TPACK & SAMR models in my classroom. I would like expand the way I use technology in the classroom. I would like to use more google docs, imovie, maybe even create an app. I aalso looking for helpful tips in keeping students engaged on the actiity instead of being distracted by the technology. I would also like to incorporate both of these models in our PLC at our school.

I forgot to mention I would like to try flipping the classroom this year. I've been a bit scared to try it.

I would like to encourage our teachers to explore the possibilities of SAMR and TPACK.
