Poseidon is the god of the sea, earthquakes and horses. He was the brother of Zeus, Hades, Hera, Hestia and Demeter and, the son of Cronos and Rhea. He married the daughter of Nereus Amphitrite. Poseidon could be symbolized by a trident, horse, and a dolphin. He was one of the gods that lived on Mount Olympus but spent most of his time in his under water domain. He is able to cause an earthquake with his trident. His son was Theseus the king of Athens. Poseidon is the second most powerful god only under Zeus.
