According to Spykman, "Who controls the Rimland rules Eurasia, who rules Eurasia controls the destinies of the world."

Spykman thougth that the Rimland was the begining of controling the world because it has a lot of people and also a lot of resources. Not only that but it is near the marginal seas. Once you have control of this area of the world you take control and power over the world. This theory contradicted the Hearthland Theory but none of them can be proven right or wrong sice they are just theories.
