Chris Kyle was born in Odessa, Texas on April 8, 1974 and died on February 2, 2013.

Significant Events

○ He broke his shoulder ending his rodeo career.

○He joined the BUD/S and the SEAL's.

○Meeting his wife Taya and having children.

○The death of Marc Lee and Severe injury of Ryan Job.

○Surgery on his knees shorting his career.


Chris grew up in north-central Texas where he learned traditional family values. He always protected his little brother in school even if that meant getting in fights. He learned to shoot a BB gun and he got a real rifle when he was 8 years old. Later on he was in the rodeo until college, then joined the military.

Unique Facts

○He didn't think he was the greatest sniper.

○Chris didn't care about medals. Sure he thought they were cool, but didn't think it was the best thing.

○Even though he was a SEAL, Chris wasn't a huge fan of the water.

○While sniping, a wall was shot by a RPG and parts landed on his legs. He kept putting     off surgery until it was necessary.

○He thought having bounties his head was cool. When another snipers bounty got higher than his, he would get jealous.

○ “I’d tell them how old I was, they’d stare at me and say, “You’re that old?” I was thirty. An old man in Fallujah.”

What he has taught me

Chris has taught me to stand up for what I believe is right, and not to back down.
