Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
A Louisiana native, Dr. Anuradha Rao-Patel, received her medical training and medical degree from Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She then completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Sinai Hospital/University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Patel is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Patel is experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of non-operative musculoskeletal disorders with an emphasis in chronic pain management. She manages conditions including chronic low back and neck pain, failed back syndrome, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, chronic regional pain syndrome (CRPS), joint pain, osteoarthritis, and migraine headaches. Her skills include long-term medication management, ultrasound guided steroid joint injections, trigger point and soft tissue injections, and botulinum toxin (Botox) injections for migraine headache management.
Dr. Patel is an active member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Association of Academic Physiatrists, North Carolina Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.
