About Dr. Bob Abene

An educator and administrator with significant fundraising experience, Dr. Bob Abene recently lead the Colleges of Occupational Excellence as the founder and chief executive officer. Prior to initiating the Colleges of Occupational Excellence, Dr. Bob Abene served as the president of Valdosta Technical College in Valdosta, Georgia, where he oversaw nearly 300 staff members.

Dr. Robert M. Abene has a record of fundraising success: He raised several million dollars, enabling Ancilla College to develop new Health Science programs, provide scholarships, and establish other programs targeting underrepresented students. Since 2013, he has also been an executive search consultant for Greenwood Asher and Associates, a firm that provides educational executive searches, consulting, and training for elementary, secondary, and higher learning institutions.

Dr. Abene holds masters' degrees from the University of St. Francis and De Paul University, as well as a PhD from the Department of Counseling and Higher Education Administration at Loyola University in Chicago. In his free time, he stays active by swimming, playing basketball, and going to the gym.
