About Dr. Darian Jones
Well-versed in academic administration, particularly in settings with a large number of traditionally underserved students, Dr. Darian C. Jones is currently completing a yearlong fellowship through the Tennessee Charter School Incubator that will provide him with the skills and means to re-imagine the educational framework of several public schools in Memphis. Additionally, Dr. Darian C. Jones serves as chief executive officer of Kole Kartel, LLC, a company he founded in 2012 through which he provides diversity training and consulting services designed to bridge the achievement gap.
Dr. Darian Jones embarked on a career in education after earning his undergraduate degrees. He taught science at North Carolina high schools for four years before becoming assistant principal at Grimsley High School. He later assumed the role of principal in Greensboro, North Carolina, and in Atlanta. In other prior experience, he held the title of director of minority student achievement for a district in Williamsburg, Virginia. In this capacity, Dr. Darian Jones utilized $600,000 to raise test scores and expand opportunities for young community members.
