About Dr. Joseph Starkman

Combining Western medicine with alternative methods, Dr. Joseph Starkman tends to patients as the lead physician at North Shore Osteopathic Healthcare, LLC, a practice he founded. At his Highland Park, Illinois, facility, the primary care practitioner utilizes an integrative approach to medicine that considers all factors possibly affecting one's overall well-being. Performing osteopathic manipulative therapy to treat adults and children, he also offers such services as hormone testing/balancing and education in HCG weight loss. In addition to serving patients at his practice, Dr. Joseph Starkman provides care at medical offices in Libertyville and Riverwoods.

To prepare for his career, Dr. Joseph Starkman attained his undergraduate degree in biological sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then gained admittance to the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University, where in pursuit of his doctor of osteopathy he earned induction into the Sigma Sigma Phi National Honorary Osteopathic Service Fraternity. After securing his doctorate, Dr. Starkman completed his internship at the Northwestern University Family Medicine Residency Program and subsequently fulfilled the obligations of his residency at the University of Chicago (Northshore) Family Medicine Residency Program. There, he spent his final year as committee chair for resident wellness.

Dr. Joseph Starkman’s additional professional training includes extensive instruction in Tai Chi, Reiki, and Sacred Sound Vibrational Healing. He also holds status as a certified practitioner in the Body Talk System.
