About Dr Marlene Casiano
Based in Barrington, Illinois, Dr. Marlene Casiano treats patients using an individualized care approach. Her methods combine psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and recommendations for physical exercise in order to enhance her clients' overall state of well being. A graduate of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. Casiano specializes in caring for women dealing with pregnancy issues, postpartum issues, menopause, and perimenopause. During her consultation liaison fellowship at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center, she investigated the effects of childbearing on mental illness and studied the use of medications during pregnancy and lactation. Additionally, Dr. Marlene Casiano helps individuals deal with mood and anxiety disorders.
In addition to running her own private practice, Dr. Casiano gives numerous presentations on depression, anxiety, and women's life cycle issues. During the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians Medicine for Today Lecture Series in 2004, she hosted, "Why Didn’t Someone Tell Me? Postpartum Mood Disorders." She also presented "An Inside Look at Panic Attacks and Anxiety Disorders" at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital.
