About Dr. Suzanne Frye Urologist
Dr. Suzanne Frye has practiced as a urologist since 1985. In recognition of her accomplishments as a urologist, Dr. Suzanne Frye was presented with an award for outstanding service from the Interstitial Cystitis Association in 1990. She also received a Distinguished Service Award from the Women’s Medical Association of New York City in 1996.
Dr. Frye has focused mainly on urological conditions that affect women. Recognized as a pioneer in the field, she has helped to draw attention to the need for the sub-specialty of female urology, which is the treatment of women with urologic problems. When Fr. Frye finished her residency in 1985, there were just a handful of women urologists in the world. Women now represent approximately 20 percent of all urology residents-in-training.
Suzanne Frye, MD, has advocated strongly for women’s health issues over the years. A founding member of the American College of Women’s Health Physicians, she also actively supports charities that promote women’s health internationally. These organizations include the Global Fund for Women, International Volunteers in Urology, and Women to Women International.
After earning a bachelor of science from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree from New York State University, Dr. Frye earned her medical degree from Hahnemann University Medical College. She went on to obtain a master of public health from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.
A professionally engaged individual, Suzanne Frye, MD, maintains affiliations with several medical organizations, including the American Urological Association, the American Public Health Association, and the Society for Women in Urology.
