About Dr. Wendell McAbee
With more than three decades of experience in the field, Dr. Wendell McAbee presently operates as president of Middle Tennessee Radiology Associates in McMinnville, Tennessee. Board certified by the American College of Radiology, Dr. Wendell McAbee provides a wide array of diagnostic procedures including CT (computerized tomography), mammography, MRI, PET scans, and ultrasounds.
Dr. Wendell McAbee earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and physics from Austin Peay University in Clarkesville, Tennessee, graduating as the valedictorian in science. He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis, graduating in the top 10 percent of his class.
As president of Middle Tennessee Radiology Associates, Dr. Wendell McAbee played an instrumental role in helping United Regional Medical Center remain operational. Then known as Coffee Medical Center, the hospital was facing imminent closure when Dr. McAbee rallied a group of investors to raise $4 million in just two weeks. As a result of his efforts, the hospital was able to remain open under its new name, United Regional Medical Center.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. McAbee maintains membership in the American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.
