About Dr. William Roy
An award-winning gynecologic oncologist, Dr. William Roy has provided knowledgeable professional care for more than 20 years. He serves as medical director of Gynecologic Oncology at the Cancer Center in Mobile, Alabama, where he specializes in robotic and other minimally invasive pelvic surgery procedures. He is well liked by his patients and ranks highly among his peers, routinely receiving patient satisfaction scores in the 99th percentile. Dr. William Roy comes to this role backed by extensive academic and private practice across California and Alabama, as well as numerous hospital attending appointments.
Dr. William Roy completed his doctor of medicine at the University of Alabama, then completed an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Louisville. He subsequently advanced to a total of three successive fellowships, beginning with an advanced pelvic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the Emory University School of Medicine in Georgia. Based on his performance in this role and his earlier study, Dr. Roy achieved distinction as a scholarship recipient for the WellBeing/Birthright Ovarian Cancer Research Fellowship at the United Kingdom's University of Southampton School of Medicine.
Upon his return to the United States, Dr. William Roy completed a gynecologic oncology fellowship at The Yale University School of Medicine. Since that time, he has remained committed to advancing his knowledge of surgical and medical oncology treatments for gynecologic patients. A fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Roy stands out as a shared recipient of the American Society of Clinical Oncology's Award for Commitment to Advancing Cancer Research through Clinical Trials.
