Summary 2: Kristallnacht means "Night of the Broken Glass". The name refers to the wave of violent anti-Jewish pogroms which took place on November 9 and 10, 1938. The rioters destroyed 267 synagogues throughout Germany, Austria and the Sudetenland. They would set buildings on fire in full view of the public. SA and Hitler Youth went and busted the top windows of shops that people owned, they shattered an estimated 7,500 jewish-owned commercial establishments. The events of Kristallnacht was the most important turning point in National Socialist antisemitic policy.
In the beginning of the twentieth century the Swastika was widely used in Europe. The symbol had numerous meanings, but the most common meaning a symbol of good luck. The symbol was soon taken up by the meaning "Aryan identity" and German nationalist pride. The conjecture of Aryan Culture of the Germans is likely one of the main reasons why the Nazi's adopted the symbol in 1920. To this day people are still scared of this symbol.

From the 1920's onwards, the Nazi party targeted the youth. They knew that it would be easier the brainwash the kids with what they were telling them. German adolescents swore allegiance to Hitler and promised to serve the nation and its leader as future soldiers. The schools played an important role in spreading the Nazi ideas to the German youth. They would remove textbooks and replace them with new ones, the students soon learned the love for Hitler, to obey the state authority. They were brainwashing the youth so they could use them later on in life so they could create a larger army.
