DYNASTY OWNER: CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK RANKINGS

Title Week Rankings

Congratulations if you are still competing in your leagues for the title, this is the most exciting time for owners who can all but taste the glory of hoisting the trophy.

Now is the time that is so frustrating for some, as the rankings tell the story that the guys who are usually most effective all season long can be real wildcards in this final week of fantasy seasons - case in point DeMarco Murray has been an unquestioned top 3 RB all year but is only ranked 17th due to injury concerns.  He can play through his hand injury but Dallas will no doubt be thinking bigger picture for this season and beyond.  So it's important, this week especially, to be in tune and act quickly on the waiver wire.

We've added comments to those who have injury question marks or are looking at a change in their traditional roles.

Running Back Rankings - Week 16

1 Le'Veon Bell PIT vs. KC

2 Jamaal Charles KC at PIT

3 Matt Forte CHI vs. DET

4 Eddie Lacy GB at TB

5 C.J. Anderson DEN at CIN

6 Arian Foster HOU vs. BAL

7 Joique Bell DET at CHI

8 Marshawn Lynch SEA at ARI

9 Fred Jackson BUF at OAK

10 Justin Forsett BAL at HOU:  Justin Forsett (ankle, knee) is no longer listed on the injury report. Forsett has rotated out more often that usual the last two weeks, averaging 14.5 carries during that span vs. 22.0 the previous three weeks. Perhaps knee and ankle issues were to blame. Forsett was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, a strong sign he's nearing 100 percent again ahead of Sunday's game at Houston. "I feel good," he said. "This is actually one of the best Wednesdays that I've had in a while. So, my body is feeling good, maintaining, feeling ready to go."

11 Mark Ingram NO vs. ATL

12 Jeremy Hill CIN vs. DEN

13 Tre Mason STL vs. NYG

14 LeSean McCoy PHI at WAS:  LeSean McCoy admitted that Chris Polk is taking over as the Eagles' primary goal-line back.  Polk played three snaps in Week 15, turning two of them into short touchdowns. A third goal-line carry went to Darren Sproles. "Polk's obviously a little bit more powerful back, so they've been giving him some of the runs in short-yardage in a couple games, especially last game. ... "There's just some plays on 3rd-and-1 type of situations where I probably wouldn't have gotten it, where I see him kind of hit a guy, drag a guy and get in there," McCoy candidly conceded. It's not out of the question that Shady gets some goal-line chances in the flow of the Eagles' hurry-up scheme, but Polk is a drain on touchdown projections. We already know McCoy was struggling to churn up yards and has lost significant pass-game work to Sproles.

15 Lamar Miller MIA vs. MIN

16 DeMarco Murray DAL vs. IND: RB Joseph Randle handled the first-team reps during the team portion of Wednesday's practice.DeMarco Murray (hand) participated in individual drills and even caught some passes two days after surgery, putting him on track to play against the Colts. But if he can't, Randle would handle the majority of base back duties, including goal-line work. That's key as eight of DeMarco's 11 touchdowns this season have come from three yards out or closer. Randle is the preferred handcuff while we await more news on Murray.

17 Daniel Herron IND at DAL

18 Alfred Morris WAS vs. PHI

19 Jonathan Stewart CAR vs. CLE:  DeAngelo Williams (hand) remained limited in Thursday's practice. Barring a setback, D-Will should return after a two-game absence, though the Panthers aren't sure how he'll fare in the passing game. In theory, he'll cut into Jonathan Stewart's workload, but we wouldn't be surprised if Williams is nothing more than a breather option for J-Stew, who has run well in Williams' absence. D-Will is not on the fantasy radar for Week 16.

20 Latavius Murray OAK vs. BUF

21 Steven Jackson ATL at NO

22 Matt Asiata MIN at MIA

34 Joseph Randle DAL vs. IND: RB Joseph Randle handled the first-team reps during the team portion of Wednesday's practice. DeMarco Murray (hand) participated in individual drills and even caught some passes two days after surgery, putting him on track to play against the Colts. But if he can't, Randle would handle the majority of base back duties, including goal-line work. That's key as eight of DeMarco's 11 touchdowns this season have come from three yards out or closer. 37 Lance Dunbar DAL vs. IND

38 Darren Sproles PHI at WAS

39 Terrance West CLE at CAR

40 Frank Gore SF vs. SD

41 Carlos Hyde SF vs. SD: Carlos Hyde (ankle, back) said he does not expect to play in Saturday's game against the Chargers barring a miracle.Despite receiving good news following an MRI, it doesn't look like Hyde is going to be able to go on this short week. It's terrible timing, as Frank Gore (concussion) is in serious doubt as well. It's certainly possible the 49ers will be forced to roll with Alfonso Smith and Phillip Tanner at running back Saturday.

42 Charles Sims TB vs. GB

3 Odell Beckham Jr. NYG at STL

4 Dez Bryant DAL vs. IND

5 A.J. Green CIN vs. DEN

6 Demaryius Thomas DEN at CIN

7 Jordy Nelson GB at TB

8 Ty Hilton IND at DAL:  T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) was held out of Colts practice Thursday. It's a concern after the Colts said they tentatively expected Hilton back on the practice field Thursday. Given that they've already clinched the AFC South yet can't realistically earn a first-round bye, it's possible they'll exercise caution with their stud No. 1 wideout. If Hilton does sit against Dallas, Donte Moncrief and even Hakeem Nicks would be worth a look as streamers. Reggie Wayne (triceps) could be on a snap count.

9 Jeremy Maclin PHI at WAS

10 Randall Cobb GB at TB

11 Alshon Jeffery CHI vs. DET

12 Julio Jones ATL at NO: Julio Jones (hip) was not spotted at the beginning of Falcons' practice Thursday.Jones is not expected to practice at all this week as he careens toward another game-time call. All owners can do is roster Harry Douglas or another backup plan and wait for more information. Note that Roddy White (knee) did return to practice Thursday.

13 Mike Evans TB vs. GB

14 Emmanuel Sanders DEN at CIN

15 Julian Edelman NE at NYJ:  Julian Edelman (concussion) is practicing again Thursday. We have no word on if Edelman has merely been cleared for practice, or if he's been cleared for full contact. But given his presence each of the last two days, he's on track to suit up as a WR2 against the Jets Sunday.

16 Golden Tate DET at CHI

17 Roddy White ATL at NO

18 Josh Gordon CLE at CAR

19 DeAndre Hopkins HOU vs. BAL

20 Kelvin Benjamin CAR vs. CLE

21 Brandon LaFell NE at NYJ

22 Vincent Jackson TB vs. GB

23 Jarvis Landry MIA vs. MIN

24 Sammy Watkins BUF at OAK

25 Andre Johnson HOU vs. BAL:  Andre Johnson has passed the concussion protocol. Johnson ends up missing one game due to his brain injury. He returns in a plus matchup against the Ravens' brutal corners, but will have to deal with Case Keenum at quarterback. Both Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins are risky WR3 types.

26 DeSean Jackson WAS vs. PHI

27 Kenny Stills NO vs. ATL

28 Jordan Matthews PHI at WAS

29 Mike Wallace MIA vs. MIN

30 Steve Smith BAL at HOU

31 Harry Douglas ATL at NO

36 Eric Decker NYJ vs. NE

37 Nate Washington TEN at JAC

38 Malcom Floyd SD at SF

39 Marqise Lee JAC vs. TEN

40 Marquess Wilson CHI vs. DET

41 Torrey Smith BAL at HOU:  Torrey Smith is not listed on the Week 16 injury report. It's a bit of a surprise. Smith's knee injury turned him into a mere decoy in Week 14 and then he posted 2-16-0 on three targets in Week 15. By not even mentioning him on the injury report, the Ravens are saying he's close to 100 percent for a dreamy matchup with the Texans Sunday.

42 Eddie Royal SD at SF

43 Martavis Bryant PIT vs. KC

44 Cecil Shorts JAC vs. TEN

45 Stedman Bailey STL vs. NYG

46 Donte Moncrief IND at DAL

55 Greg Jennings MIN at MIA

56 Mohamed Sanu CIN vs. DEN

57 Robert Woods BUF at OAK

58 Kenny Britt STL vs. NYG

59 Wes Welker DEN at CIN

60 Reggie Wayne IND at DAL:  The Indy Star suggests Reggie Wayne (triceps) might have his snap count reduced over the final two weeks of the regular season. The Colts already backed off Wayne a bit in Weeks 14 and 15, playing him on just 75.6 percent of the snaps. Now they've clinched the AFC South and have almost no shot at a first-round bye. So resting Wayne in order to get him 100 percent for the Wild Card game makes plenty of sense. Donte Moncrief and Hakeem Nicks will have roles against the Cowboys Sunday, with Moncrief ticketed for far more snaps.

16 Philip Rivers SD at SF:  Philip Rivers (back, chest) returned to Chargers practice Thursday, getting in a "full" session. Rivers took a rare rest day on Wednesday, but will be ready to go for Saturday's game against the 49ers. Playing at well less than 100 percent without No. 1 receiver Keenan Allen, Rivers isn't a great QB1 for the fantasy finals.

17 Joe Flacco BAL at HOU

18 Jimmy Clausen CHI vs. DET: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bears will start Jimmy Clausen over Jay Cutler in Week 16 against the Lions. The Bears are benching Cutler just 14 starts into his seven-year, $127 million extension. Per NFL Network's Mike Silver, coach Marc Trestman felt he could no longer start Cutler "simply to justify a contract" when his on-field play was so poor. Cutler regressed in his second season in Trestman's offense, leading the NFL in turnovers (24). Owed a fully guaranteed $15.5 million next year, the Bears' only option is to trade Cutler this offseason if they want to move on from him. Chicago would absorb $19 million in dead money by releasing Cutler before 2016.

19 Andy Dalton CIN vs. DEN

20 Cam Newton CAR vs. CLE:  Cam Newton (back) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, and is "on target" to start Sunday's game against the Browns.  Barring a setback, coach Ron Rivera expects Newton to "probably" start over Derek Anderson.

21 Kyle Orton BUF at OAK

22 Colin Kaepernick SF vs. SD

29 Charlie Whitehurst TEN at JAC

30 Case Keenum HOU vs. BAL:  CBS' Jason La Canfora says "every expectation" is that Case Keenum will start Sunday's game against the Ravens.Bill O'Brien isn't tipping his hand between Keenum and Thad Lewis. But Keenum makes more sense as he was with the team throughout the offseason program and training camp before losing his backup job to Tom Savage and Ryan Mallett. However, Keenum was brutal in four preseason games going 28-of-52 (53.8%) for 254 yards (4.88 YPA) with zero touchdowns and two interceptions, good for a 51.3 passer rating. He's not even a two-quarterback league option against a Ravens defense that can cover their secondary woes with a swarming front seven.

31 Derek Carr OAK vs. BUF

32 Geno Smith NYJ vs. NE

33 Chad Henne JAC vs. TEN

34 Jay Cutler CHI vs. DET: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bears will start Jimmy Clausen over Jay Cutler in Week 16 against the Lions. The Bears are benching Cutler just 14 starts into his seven-year, $127 million extension. TE Rankings - Week 16

1 Rob Gronkowski NE at NYJ

2 Jimmy Graham NO vs. ATL: Jimmy Graham played on 65.2 percent of the snaps against the Bears in Week 15. It's down from the 77.4 percent he played in Week 14. It was also extremely frustrating to see Graham not even on the field when No. 3 TE Josh Hill was the primary read on two goal-line plays and converted both for scores. Still, Graham has run 78 pass routes the last two weeks and put 5-87-0 on the Bears despite his shoulder issue. Season-longers have to fire him up as the No. 2 tight end play in Week 16 against the Falcons.

3 Greg Olsen CAR vs. CLE

4 Martellus Bennett CHI vs. DET

5 Travis Kelce KC at PIT:  Travis Kelce has played on 80.4 percent of the snaps the last two weeks. Kelce's usage has quietly spiked recently even though Anthony Fasano has been healthy. Kelce ran a season-high 46 routes in Week 14 and backed that up by running 30 in Week 15 -- his third-highest mark of the season. Over the last month, Kelce is fantasy's No. 4 tight end and faces a Steelers defense burnable in every facet this week. He's clearly in play as a TE1 for both season-long and daily players.
