CADD Ashlyn Woods
In session 1, we used the CADD software to make the design for our soapbox racers. After we made the design, we printed out the design and built our soapbox racer. We learned about the alphabet of lines. We learned about hidden, border, and object lines and what they do and how they are represented on a design. Then we added the lines to our drawing and printed them out.
In session 2, we used the CAD software to add dimensions to the car drawing. We learned how to add dimensions to the drawing using the computer. It showed us how to add dimensions to the drawing.
In session 3, we measured the dimensions of 3-D shapes. We used the CAD software to create the front, top, and right side views. Then, we used the dimension part to add the right dimensions to each side.
In session 4, we continued working with the alphabet of lines. We learned about cutting-plane and section lines. We used the CAD software to create a cutaway drawing. We learned about cutaway views.
In session 5, we made a floor plan. We learned about all of the different things that are put into the floor plan. After that, we used the computer to build our own floor plan. We added rooms, doors, and windows to the floor plan.
In session 6, we added more details to our floor plan. We added cabinets, plumping fixtures, and other things to our floor plan. We made sure that our floor plan had all of the things that were needed and was done correctly.
In session 7, we added the final components to our floor plan. We added lights, switches, and electrical outlets. We then connected the lights to the switches. We made sure that the floor plan had everything that was needed on it.
A career that would be associated with this module is an architect. An architect would use the CAD software that we used in our module. An architect would use the floor plan software like we do in our module. They would make a floor plan with all of the component as the one we made in our module. Then, after they use the CAD software, they would make the final.
