I found it interesting that Asia was so affected by Imperialism. It's upsetting that Britain acted the way they did towards Asians. Imperialism was very unsympathetic towards Asians and their beliefs. It's very understandable that they were afraid to modernize, because they could have lost some of their heritage. I learned that their views were also varied, depending on who you were to ask. Some felt it was best to join them and some felt differently.

From this video, I learned just how much imperialism affected Asia. Britain treated the Asians horribly, and possibly even worse, seeing as so much of the information people have today, was written by the British. I think it's really interesting to learn about how imperialism affected people, and if people supported it or not.

Timathee R I found it intersting how to protest there nation form being taken over by imperialism the new ideas for government were formed, and leaders rose to lead nations. Ultimately imperalism still remained but so many were against it in the east, this really surprised me. Also surprised that some would protest factories, it seems like such a good resource especially at first.

I learned a lot from this video. I found it interesting how everyone was affected by imperialism, especially in Asia. The different views and opinions from the different countries about imperialism I thought was also cool. China was very much against imperialism. It was also fascinating how long imperialism has actually been around.

This video had a lot of interesting points in it. Generally what I found most interesting was the fact that most of the Asian citizens acknowledged that Western Modernization had major benefits. Making advances in medicine, education and ethical business operation. However they also noted the lack of humanity, kindness and contentment within the Westerners. The fact that the Westerners had very little compassion and understanding for those less fortunate then they.

I learned a lot from this video and I think John Green is very entertaining to watch. To learn more about China and it's thoughts and feelings towards imperialism, really helped with knowledge for the future.

I always enjoy watching John Greene videos. He teaches history in a way we can understand. I loved learning more about the Country I was born in. I learned more about countries such as India, China, and the States. I learned how imperialism affected them and what they did. It was cool to hear about each Country and their feelings and thoughts toward certain situations.

I learned that in Asia they were watching imperialism dominate other Countries/religions so they prepared for it. Some Asian rulers considered western ways but others didn't want it to interfere. In Japan, however, their imperialism was a success with industrialism.

The most interesting part that stuck out to me was the point that the affected countries were quick to acknowledge why and how Europe was taking over. I always pictured imperialism in a way that took the affected nations by surprise and without much explanation. However, the video explained that the nations knew it was because of Europe's advanced industrialism. They knew this fact so well that they even took a "if you can't beat them, join them" approach and attempted advancement themselves. We then see that this approach was effective in some situations but a failure in others.
