Complete and Incomplete Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis- the process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form in two or more distinct stages

Complete Metamorphosis- the complete form of metamorphosis in which an insect passes through four separate  stages of growth

Incomplete Metamorphosis- a life cycle of certain insects, such as crickets and grasshoppers, characterized by the absence of a pupal stage between the immature and adult stages

Stages of Complete Metamorphosis- egg, larva, pupa, adult

Stages of Incomplete Metamorphosis- egg, nymph, adult

Complete Metamorphosis- butterfly, fly, ants, bees, ladybugs, beetles, moths

Incomplete Metamorphosis- dragonfly, grasshopper, cockroaches, spiders, crickets
