Chippewa Past History

The past history of the Chippewa Indians are, they lived in he U.S.A.  mostly Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Southern Canada. They had common problems like robbers,wars ect.

This is where most Chippewa Indians lived.

Chippewa Present History

They now live in their original homeland. They also live in houses and apartments. The problems they have now are the problems every person does. Like, socializing ect.

Food

Woodland Chippewa Indians were farmers. They grew and harvested wild rice and corn. They fished and hunted. They also gathered nuts and fruits.

Clothing

Chippewa girls and women wore long dresses with removable sleeves. Chippewa men and boys wore Breechcloths. On special occasions they wore headbands with feathers. They wore moccasins.

Homes

Chippewa Indians had birchbark houses. They also lived in tipis.

Tools

Chippewa Indians used bows and arrows, clubs, flails, hide shields, snares, spears and fishhooks.

Games

Chippewa children played with dolls. They also played lacrosse and the Ojibiway string game.

Interesting  Facts

Chippewa Indians made dream catchers! Chippewa Indians also knocked rice in a canoe. They told fables and fairy tales. Chippewa Indians spoke (and speak) with weird verbs.
