Limericks were thought to have been made in Limerick, Ireland. People also believed they were made by a man named Edward Lear. Limericks were usually goofy poems that involved distasteful jokes. Limericks are used sometimes to prove a point or just for fun. Also they  consist of the pattern AABBA.
