Becoming an Official Scripps Kid

I transferred to Ohio University at the start of my junior year of college in the fall of 2012. I previously went to Ohio State and as much as I loved it, I knew I was meant to be in Athens. I wanted to become a journalism student at the one and only E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. Once I was officially a Bobcat, I threw myself into extracurricular activities in the journalism school and started taking specific classes to help me reach my goal. I met so many students that were already a part of the journalism program and they took me under their wing and guided me along the way. After a year of building my transfer application portfolio, I am proud to say I was officially accepted into the school in October 2013. It has been one of my biggest accomplishments to date and I have made so many friends during the process! I know this journey will help me in the future to reach my professional goals in the field of public relations someday. With the prize money, I could begin saving up for a big move to the city after I graduate!
