The Indians then played a home game at Laurens against Alta-Aurelia and finished with a 44-35 victory. Their most recent game was Tuesday night against East Sac and won 65-55, bringing their current record to 5-1. There is one more game before winter break. The Indians will be traveling to Sioux Rapids to take on the Rebels on Friday, December 19th.
The Indian boys basketball team is looking for an upper conference finish, especially after the addition of Laurens Marathon. "The kids are getting along great and everyone has the attitude of making each other better," said head coach Brian Heidi. Coach Heidi is very optimistic about the year, with each starter and most bench support returning to play this year. Despite a 9-13 record last year, and a tough new conference schedule, the team is up to the challenge. Returning letterwinners are Tanner Youngberg, Dominic Johnson, Austin Roetman, Caleb Ricke, Ben Olson, Aaron Aljets, and Keegan Jamison. Top prospects for the year are Austin Miller, Luke Koster, Ryan Grebner, and Tyler Behrendsen.
