Blood Diamond is a 2006 American-German political war thriller film. It was based and set during on Sierra Leone Civil War in 1996-2001. The movie co-producer and directed by Edward Zwick. The movie characters are Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Connelly and Djimon Hounsou. In February 2004, Warner Bros rewrite earlier draft  of the film, then titled Okavango. The movie was shot in Kimberley. Kimberley is the origin of rough diamonds in order to curb the trade in conflict diamonds. It also portrays many of the atrocities of that war, if people doesn't obey to insurgent force. They will cuts off people hands to discourage them. People who have children they've been taken way form parents and train them to use guns and give smoke to kids. Parents have to work for insurgent to search diamonds.

I really like Blood Diamond, but do not think it is a great film. A good movie? Yes. Director/Producer Edward Zwick is probably the best in Hollywood film with a historical theme and a message without lecturing his audience. This movie nominated for 3-4 times in Oscars. "Blood Diamond" is an action, political adventure, and war thriller.
