Jewish High School in Brooklyn

About Elite Academy of Science & Technology

For more than a decade, Brooklyn-based Elite Academy of Science & Technology has provided students with the tools necessary to succeed in college and beyond. Elite Academy of Science & Technology (EAST), which is transitioning into a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) school, offers a unique blend of traditional Jewish education and a cutting-edge Liberal Arts and Science curriculum. Dedicated to developing each student’s academic potential, EAST emphasizes the importance of small class sizes and a low student-to-teacher ratio. The faculty gives attention to each student on a one-on-one basis. To this end, the students at EAST benefit from unique learning opportunities that nurture their talents, encourage a sense of self-confidence and motivation, and bring out their leadership qualities.

Offering a challenging college preparatory curriculum and a focus on educational excellence, EAST is a co-educational high school that instills in students the highest ethical and intellectual standards in the context of the Jewish culture and faith.

Possessing accreditation from the Jewish Education Project and the New York City Department of Education, EAST aims to develop students into socially responsible individuals with strong communication and critical thinking skills. EAST benefits from a curriculum developed by Project Lead the Way (PLTW), a nationally recognized provider of STEM programs for secondary schools. As a STEM school, EAST will begin offering the flagship Biomedical Sciences Program in September 2013. The program takes students through a succession of courses in public health, microbiology, physiology, and genetics in preparation for their college studies and careers in science and medicine. EAST holds the distinction of being the only Jewish high school in Brooklyn with a STEM Biomedical Program.

In addition, students at EAST may take a broad range of Advanced Placement classes, receive individualized college counseling, and participate in athletic courses to develop their minds and bodies. For more information about Elite Academy of Science & Technology, visit www.eastny.org.
