CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN LAKEWOODALIVE
AND THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD
LakewoodAlive, a non-profit economic development corporation, presents “Loving Lakewood – Alive & Thriving,” a 10th anniversary celebration of the partnership between Lakewood’s economic development organization and the City of Lakewood. The event will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 7:30-11 pm at Lakewood Center North, 14600 Detroit Avenue.
What: More than 200 Lakewood residents, business owners, event sponsors and community supporters will gather to celebrate the collective success of many organizations and individuals who have contributed to the renaissance in downtown Lakewood and the community’s neighborhoods.
The evening includes a festive Lakewood street party, with décor that highlights areas that are uniquely Lakewood. Entertainment will be provided by Chris Vance of Vance Studios. The event also includes an auction featuring unique local and regional experiences along with locally produced artwork for purchase.
Why: The evening celebrates 10 years of successful partnership between the City of Lakewood and Lakewood’s economic development organization - helping to make Lakewood one of the region’s most vibrant places to live, work and play. This partnership has led to millions of dollars being invested in downtown Lakewood and the community’s historic housing stock, sustaining Lakewood into its second century.

LakewoodAlive is a nonprofit economic development corporation whose mission is to facilitate economic stability and growth in the City of Lakewood. Lakewood Community Progress Inc. (LCPI) was founded in 2004 with an emphasis on Downtown Lakewood. LCPI and LakewoodAlive merged in 2007 and has since included housing outreach and assisting other commercial corridors in its portfolio of programs.
