"Rhythm is something you either have or you don't have, but when you have it, you have it all over"
-Elvis Presley

Elvis Aron Presley was born on January 8th 1975 in Tupelo, Mississippi. Elvis was supposed to be a twin but Jesse Garon Presley was stillborn. Presley was brought up by a low income family, to know Jesus Christ. Every Sunday he went to the Assembly of God Church with his parents. Like his devotion to God he was also devoted to his parents.

Because of Elvis's upbringing with church, Gospel music became one of the strongest musical influences allong with Country and Rock and Roll. elvis didn't have a cirtian genre that he liked to write songs for, he just wrote the music that inspired him. At the age of 10 Presley got his first gutair. Soon after, he won a talent show at his highschool in Memphis, Tennessee. Ever since that spark of fame he saw, he knew that performing is what he wanted to do.

Presley’s first demo record came shortly after his high school talent show. He was working multiple jobs at the time trying to get this demo, little did he know that the label that the demo would come from was looking for him. The label that the demo came from was Sun Studio Records. The owner of the record label (Sam Phillips) “adopted” Elvis and tried to make his life into stardom a little
easier. A year later Elvis signed with RCA Records. This signing lasted Elvis’s whole career. Who knew that you could accomplish so much with only a high school degree?

Presley was a heart-throb among women, but ever so rarely did he meet someone who caught his eye,
until he met a teenage Pricilla Beaulieu. They wed in 1967 and a year later were blessed with a daughter Lisa Marie Presley. However, the happy times soon faded when Elvis and Pricilla’s marriage was falling apart. In 1973 the couple divorced and Pricilla received custody of their daughter.

Elvis Presley lived a life full of music, happiness, and fame. He died at the age of 42 due to the age of heart failure. The heart failure was caused by an overdose of prescription drugs. Now, Elvis is resting with his mother, father, and grandmother near his Graceland home.

Elvis’s life was full of his accomplishments. He was known for known for his contributions to Rock and Roll because he was one of the first people put into its Hall of Fame. He also left his mark on the Country and Gospel Hall of Fame. He won three Grammy Awards for his Gospel records. To top it all off he has multiple gold and platinum records.
