Last week basketball coach and government/economics teacher Marc Gernander went home to change for the basketball game and on his way back he saw a house fire. He along with another woman stopped and saw a large dog trying frantically to get in the front door of the burning house. They figured there was someone inside. They knocked on the door and found an older man looking for his belongings. Coach Gernander and the woman convinced the homeowner he had to get out and wait with his dog across the street.
Coach says it was "no big deal" but he took the time to stop his routine and busy schedule to get involved and saved someone's life!
