Mummification

Process of preserving the dead body for the afterlife.

"Ancient Egyptians believed in an afterlife when someone died. Mummification helped someone reach the afterlife as they thought that, in order to have an afterlife, the dead person would have to repossess his or her body. Egyptians believed that the only way to do this was if the body was recongisable"

Pharaohs

The leader or king of ancient Egypt that was viewed as a God.

The pharaohs ruled ancient Egypt. Of the many mighty pharaohs that ruled only a few have actually accomplished a goal. Those that have achieved the status have done so through luck as most the tombs have been destroyed or robbed. Though it has left many holes into Egyptian history, life, and culture—now we can only image how a pharaoh and his people must have lived together in Ancient Egypt.

Nile river

The major  river of Egypt with  the river Egypt would not exist.

"Ancient Egypt could not have existed without the river Nile. Since rainfall is almost non-existent in Egypt, the floods provided the only source of moisture to drink. When the floods went down it left thick rich mud which was excellent soil to plant seeds in after it. The ancient Egyptians could grow crops only in the mud left behind when the Nile flooded. So they all had fields all along the River Nile."

The Three Kingdoms

The three kingdoms are a Old kingdom, Middle kingdom and the New kingdom.

''Archaeologists divide ancient Egypt's history into three big blocks of time. In each block of time, all pharaohs behaved in a certain way. These blocks of time were called kingdoms. Scientists named these blocks the Old Kingdom, the Middle Kingdom, and the New Kingdom."
