Ecosystems

The pictures above each show one of the three main ecosystems. The second picture shows a marine ecosystem. Marine ecosystems include coral reefs, salt marshes, and oceans. The third picture shown above is an example of a freshwater ecosystem. Freshwater ecosystems include rivers, lakes, and ponds. Finally the fourth picture shown above is an example of a terrestrial ecosystem. Terrestrial ecosystems include tundras, tropical rain forests, and deserts.

The picture above shows what I call the ecosystem pizza. This shows the different levels of an ecosystem. The biosphere is the part of the planet with the living organisms, which is basically all of the Earth. An ecosystem includes the living organisms in an area and the nonliving aspects of the environment. The community is all of the populations of different species that live in the same area and interact with one another. A community is composed of all of the biotic factors of an area. A population is a group of organisms belonging to the same species that live in the same area and interact with one another. An individual is just one organism from a species.

A pandas niche and habitat

Pandas live mostly in bamboo forests high in the mountains of western China. However, Pandas are endangered and there are many zoos and breeding centers around the world to care for them. A pandas niche, or role in the environment is to mainly to eat bamboo. They do not play a huge role in the ecosystem, but because of pandas, there is a rich biodiversity of plants which they eat.
