Norovirus, sometimes known as the winter vomiting bug in the UK, is the most common cause of viral diseases in the human body.
The disease is usually self-limiting, and severe illness is rare.
Noroviruses, like other viruses, don't respond to antibiotics, which are designed to kill bacteria. No antiviral drug can treat noroviruses, but in healthy people the illness should go away on its own within a couple of days.
This video is about the virus that is taking hold of us in 2013.
This video is about the symptoms and prevention of norovirus.
