When you make choices such as your diet, where you live, and other personal choices, you are expressing your personal lifestyle. Lifestyle obviously effects your life, but did you know it also effects your health? You should make good choices regarding diet, alcohol use, drugs, tobacco, and exercise to ensure a long, healthy life.
Sometimes, people make bad choices when dealing with their diet. They often think that taste is better than their personal health. This is not always true. Although I love food that tastes good, such as burgers and tacos, this is not very good for us. More than one-third, or 35.7% of adults are considered to be obese. More than 1 in 20 (6.3 percent) have are extremely obese. Almost 3 in 4 men or 74% are considered to be overweight or obese. The number of men and women who are obese is about 36%. One small burger at McDonalds is 520 calories. Sometimes, you have to sacrifice taste so that you can stay healthy.
When people drink too much beer or wine, they have an alcohol problem. Alcohol is a very serious beverage and if you drink too much, you can get very sick or make bad decisions. Many people have gotten into car accidents because they were drinking and driving, which is illegal. To be able to drink alcohol legally, you have to be over the age of 21.
Another major problem with our lifestyles is drugs. There are many types of drugs. Some people even use medical drugs to get high on or addicted to. Drugs are very scary things, and have bad side effects. Often times, drugs ruin peoples lives. Some people do drugs because of peer pressure, or because they wanted to try something new. Either way, drugs are very dangerous.
In conclusion, if you don't make good decisions in your life, you can endue not as happy as you were, or even ruin your life. So please, make good decisions and always think about how decisions that you make, can effect you and others around you.
