Edgar Allan Poe was born on January, 19, 1809, in Boston Massachusetts. Edgar's mother passed away when he was two, and without a father, he became a foster child of the Allan family.Edgar started writing at the age of 13 and he would never stop. When he was older he enrolled at the University of Virginia, but due to debt he ended up withdrawing from college. After settling down in Richmond, Virginia he married his 13 year old cousin. Edgar barely made a living off of his writing, but he did work for several magazines. Over the course of his life he wrote many famous stories, and poems. Edgar Allan Poe died on October 7, 1849 when he was 40 for reasons nobody yet knows.
