Mr. Murphey wants Daniel to play baseball, but Daniel doesn't like baseball. Daniel wants to play basketball, so when he wants to play basketball with his dad he can't so he plays by himself.

Sydney you are the only one who actually answered the question about 'how does Daniel FEEL that his Dad wants him to play baseball but he like basketball. You say he feels 'ashamed'..in a way I think he does...do you think his dad would be nicer to him if he played basketball? His dad says 'basketball is for morons' pg. 108 How do you think Daniel feels when he knows his dad think s this way?

Daniel has told Carly that his dad doesn't like him playing basketball he wants him to play baseball but Daniel thinks baseball is boring and he hates his dad for that.

Daniel really really really wants to play basketball and he feels angry and sad that his dad won't support him in the fact that he want's to play basketball, not baseball. I think that his dad should support him when he plays, rather than try to force him to play baseball.
