Fats Waller

Fats Waller was a very friendly, outgoing person who started playing the piano at age 6.  From then on he developed into the talented musician that he was.

Fats Waller grew up having 10 brothers and sisters.  Sadly, only half of them made it through childhood.  He dropped out of high school to pursue his musical career.  He married twice and had 3 kids.  He had to overcome many obstacles in his life.  He was an African-American and during the time he lived it was hard for them.  His weight really affected him as well.  He died at age 39 from Bronchial Pneumonia.   

Fats Waller was born on May 21, 1904 in New York, New York, United States.  He died on December 15, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri, United States.
