Elizabeth Murray was an abstract artist. Elizabeth was born on September 6, 1940. She grew up realizing that she was really good at art. Her teacher started to become interested in her work and created a scholarship to the Art Institute, for her. She went to school at the School of Art Institute she went there for 4 years. Then she got her degree from Mills College. She now has many pieces of art work one of her famous ones is Blooming. Blooming is an mosaic that is 120-feet long. Blooming is located in Manhattan’s 59th St. station mezzanine. Blooming has trees coffee cups, and slippers on it. Elizabeth had complications with lung cancer, and died on August 12,2007.
