Environmental Essay

By Malik Bryant

For the essay, i picked three quotes. The first one I picked is "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." from Anne Frank. The second one I picked is "Modern technology, Owes ecology, An apology." from Alan M. Eddison. The third one I picked is "Your descendants shall gather your fruits." from Virgil. The first second paragraphs are about the Anne Frank quote.

The quote "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." The quote was from her diary from when she was in hiding from 1942 to 1944. The quote means that it doesn't matter if the world doesn't hear your inner self, or if all your efforts to express your inner self are met with no peace. wn way, to make a change to be better. Also, you don't have to wait for somebody to change the world, you can do it right now.

The similarities from the Anne Frank quote to the other quotes, is that it can get you motivated, it helps you think about the quotes and how it can change you. They make you think. The differences is that it talks similarly but differently on a few things. For example, the Anne Frank quote & the Alan M. Eddison quote, the Eddison quote talks about technology and ecology. The Anne Frank quote talks about change and how you can make it change.

The quote "Modern technology, Owes ecology, An apology." The quote is by Alan M. Eddison, the director of Green Earth Affair headquarters in Zimbabwe. The quote means  that the promoting of technology has brought very great benefits to people, but at the same time it has also harmed the environment. So, it basically states that it benefits people, but it harms the environment also. I have a question. Should benefiting people also benefit the environment?

The similarities between the the Alan M. Eddison quote & the other quotes is that they all have a meaning to it. Like for instance, the Eddison quote, it benefits people, but it harms the environment also. The differences are that the Eddison quote involves technology. But, the others doesn't. They involve other things like changing the world. Also, the other one talks about your descendants.

The quote "Your descendants shall gather your fruits." The quote is by Virgil, a Roman poet who lived from 70 BC to 19 BC. It means that your ancestors shall get your things together. It also means that it affects who you were then. Your ancestors are like what you partially were before. The environment was different and also the same before now, than it was.

The similarities between this quote and the other quotes is that it has a purpose to it. Like the Anne Frank quote, it meant that you can change the world on your own terms and it could benefit to other people. Also, the Eddison quote, technology benefits people, but harms the environment. The differences are that they involve different things. The Anne Frank quote talks about changes. The Eddison quote talks about technology and the environment.

My conclusion is that these quotes involve the environment in different ways. Like the Anne Frank quote, you can change the environment on your own terms. The Alan M. Eddison quote, Technology benefits people but harms the environment. The Virgil quote, The environment was different and also the same before, than it was. They all have purposes and meanings. The environment can be involved with many things.
