I read a couple of Berra’s books and thought they were interesting and I thought he was cool. When we were learning about biographies in class I decided I would write my report on Yogi Berra. Yogi Berra was one of the best ball players in the world. He was a catcher and one of best batters in the world. Today, Yogi Berra plays old league. Old league is made up of old people.

Larry Peter Berra, also known as Yogi Berra, was born in 1925.Yogi Berra started playing t-ball when he was 3 years old. A childhood friend named him Yogi after a snake charmer. Now everybody knows him as Yogi Berra so he chose to be known as Yogi Berra.

When he was 3 his baseball careers toke off. Yogi Berra dropped out of 8th grade to help his family. His parents and their priest tried to get him to go back to school but he insisted that he would help his family.

Yogi Berra saw combat. He fought in World War II. He was a gunners’ man on a boat. Yogi Berra was lucky to come back alive from war. In 1946, he became the Yankee’s catcher. In 1963, Berra retired from baseball. In 1976, Yogi became the Yankees’ coach.
