Eleanor Roosevelt Obituary

October 11th, 1884- November 7th, 1962 Gabriella Linden

Eleanor Roosevelt died in her sleep from  tuberculosis on November 7th, 1962. She was 78 when she passed away. Her life was good, but hard. From the day she was born, she was often called an, "Ugly Duckling," and 'Homely." Her parents wanted a boy instead. When she was eight, Eleanor's mother, brother and father died within 18 months of each other. She was a loner much of her life.  Eleanor was sent to live with her grandmother after that happened. Her grandmother sent her to a boarding school in England. When Eleanor was 18, she got involved in politics and met Franklin Roosevelt. Then, they fell in love and got married. In 1932, Franklin became president. Eleanor was very caring.
