Hades is the god of the underworld and earthly riches. Hades is also referred to as Aïdês or "the unseen" and Pluto/Pluton or "the wealthy one"/"the giver of wealth". He is the son of Cronus and Rhea, brother of Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, Hera, and Hestia, and father to Macaria, Melinoe, and Zogreus. Hades is also the oldest of his siblings. He fell in love with Persperone, the goddess of grain, agriculture, and fertility, so he captured her to become his wife and goddess of  the underworld. Hades power/responsibility is controlling the underworld. Some of Hades many symbols are Cerberus, the drinking horn, scepter, Cypress, and Narcissus. Cerberus is Hades three headed dog or "hellhound" (above), the Cypress is a type of tree and the Narcissus is a type of plant.
