The holocaust was a state sponsored, systematic persecution, and annihilation of European Jewry by Nazi Germany and its collaborators, between 1933 and 1945.

The Nazi camps

Nazi Germany established about 20,000 camps to imprison its many millions of victims. The camps were used for alot of different purposes, transit camps which served as temporary way stations, and killing centers or for exclusivity for mass murders.Nazis arrested German and Austrian Jews and imprisoned them in the Dachau, Buchenwald, and SachsenHansen concentration camps, all located in Germany. During the world war 2,the camps expanded fast. The Nazi doctors preformed medical experiments on the prisoners because if the doctors had to put a life in danger it wouldn't be the soldiers, it would be the prisoners because they knew that the prisoners would not live as long anyway, and they did not care about the prisoners and what they did/happened to them.

Death Marches

Death marches- a march (as of prisoners of war) in which those unable to go on are left to die as they fall.

The Soviet and western media widely publicized SS atrocities at the camp, using both footage of the camp at liberation and interviews with some of the surviving prisoners, for 3 reasons-

1. The SS authorities did not want prisoners to fall into enemy hands alive to tell their stories to Allied and Soviet liberators

2.  The SS thought that they needed the prisoners to maintain the production of armaments wherever and whenever possible

3.  Some SS leaders believed that they should keep the Jews in the concentration camps as hostages to bargain for a separate peace in the west that would guarantee the survival of the Nazi regime

The death pits

The prisoners had to dig for hours on 'death pits' & from what i have researched, most people weren't there just to dig the death pits. Some were there to die while building the pits, and most people were their to watch it happen. Them Seeing their family and people they cared for die and fall into a death pit with many other helpless people And the worst part is, that they cant to do anything about it or they will also being the ones dying with the people they loved and cared for.

1933-1945 was one of the most painful and hard years for Jews and other people.
