Modern Prosthetic Limbs
Madison and Hannah
Scientists have become more advance when it comes to prosthetic limbs. Prosthetic limbs are artificial body parts for people who have lost them. This particular limb was 3-D printed. Doctors connect them to your nerves so you can still move.
On April 15, 2013 the Boston Bombing occurred.
This is Heather Abbott from Newport, Rhode Island age 38. She suffered a severe leg injury from the Boston bombing.
This is how you would make a prosthetic leg and arm.
This very advanced robotic arm is described as "like something from space." The arm is controlled by your mind.
Modern prosthetic limbs have come a long way. Starting way back prosthetics started with the peg leg. A long time ago, they were wooden and leather.
Now they look more realistic.
