Franklin Cockerill is a seasoned medical professional whose thirty-seven year career as a doctor has had a tremendous impact on the medical community. Throughout all of his professional career, Dr. Cockerill exemplified the will and ability to network with others in his field and form lasting relationships with a number of groups that he benefitted from as much as they did from his involvement. These groups were not only pivotal in his development as a professional, but they also were host to many of Dr. Cockerill’s accomplishments. Even in his schooling, Dr. Cockerill was gaining connections in his field through joining relative groups and networks, a habit that he still maintains today. Below, he shares some of his most valued fellowships, memberships and societies.
Franklin Cockerill is a fellow in each of following scientific organizations: American College of Physicians, American College of Chest Physicians, Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American Academy of Microbiology.
Franklin R. Cockerill, III, MD has board memberships with the American Clinical Laboratory Association; Board of Scientific Counselors for the Center for Disease Control; Association for Molecular Pathology; Association for Molecular Pathology; International Symposium on Antimicrobial Agents and Resistance; and the Subcommittee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing-Clinical and Laboratory Standards, which is formerly known as NCCLS (National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards.
Franklin Cockerill is involved with societies that relate to his field such as the American Society for Microbiology, Association for Molecular Pathology, Sigma Xi, AOA (Alpha Omega Alpha), and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
