National Association for the Advancement of Colored People

The NAACP had a very important part in the civil rights movement. The letters stand for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The organization was founded in 1909 by a group of multi-racial activists.

The main goal of NAACP is to eliminate racial discrimination.
