Longtime attorney Fred Huganir has continued to maintain extensive experience throughout his career. Mr. Huganir began his legal career in 1979, and in 1980 became Counsel for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue. He spent the next year performing legal research, drafting laws, and litigating enforcement and tax issues in civil court. After leaving the position, Fred Huganir accepted a clerkship in the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. As a judicial law clerk, he performed extensive legal writing and research for Hon. William W. Lipsitt.
Shortly after completing his clerkship, Fred Huganir went into private practice at Huganir Law Offices in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Since 1979, he has handled a multitude of legal matters, including criminal and civil litigation, business law, estate law, and intellectual property matters. Early in his career, Mr. Huganir also spent five years as Assistant Public Defender for Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. In this position, he argued before several Pennsylvania courts and performed criminal defense litigation. He also spent four years as Solicitor and Prosecutor for the Domestic Relations Section of the Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas.
Outside of his legal career, Fred Huganir has kept active in several community organizations. He has assisted with the organization of multiple programs and events at Harrisburg Academy, a private school in Wormleysburg, Pennsylvania. Additionally, he held several positions on Board of Directors for The Stevens Center, a nonprofit mental health-related organization.
